Here is a list of volunteer needs specific to Smith Elementary School, and feel free to let us know if you have other ideas for how you’d like to be involved!

Assisting with the art program – no experience necessary.

Providing a food item for an activity (homemade OR store bought)

Putting projects together (all supplies provided to you).

Helping with grant writing.

Working on family fun nights/events.

Serving as a playground volunteer (you can set how often you would like to help).

Helping with Junior Governor’s Cup training.

Making 5 phone calls to find help for an event.

Copying 1 set of fliers for a Parent Council event. (NOTE:  There are approximately 350 students)

If you have a home-based business and would be interested in participating in an open house event that would have a space fee, let us know.

Donating an old laptop to the Smith Parent Council.

Helping coordinate a coffee fundraiser.

Filming school events.

Assisting in the coordination of the Missoula Children’s Theater coming to Smith School.

Assisting with the Scholastic Book Fair.

Supervising the students in the cafeteria during lunchtime from 11:25 to 12:25.

Placing a cell phone cartridge recycle bin at your place of employment on behalf of Smith School.

Donating to Smith School either outright, in-kind or matching.

Library Inventory

Smith is looking for a team of 3-5 individuals that would be willing to help do an inventory of all their library during the month of February 2009. Volunteers must be comfortable using a handheld computing device (training will be provided) and be able to bend down/reach up to remove books from shelves in order to scan them. Sign up as an individual volunteer or get a group of your friends together to lend a hand to our librarians!
