Honors English Requirements and Summer Reading
Requirements for Honors and Advanced Placement English Classes at Helena High School
To enable students to develop their maximum potential in the academic pursuit of reading and the study of English, all students who intend to take Honors or Advanced Placement English classes at Helena High School are required to read during the summer. In addtion, all students and their parents must complete the Parent/Student Commitment Form. As the Parent/Student Information and Commitment Form states, the challenging nature of the coursework for Honors English classes, requirements for reading and writing beyond the time spent in class, and focus on independence in study require a commitment from students. Independent study and mandatory outside readings are cornerstones for student success and participation in Honors or Advanced Placement English classes. Welcome to a meaningful challenge.
