Montana Behavioral Initiative

MBI Preschool Site

Our preschool became an Montana Behavioral Initiative site in September 2007.  This has entitled us to support and training from the Office of Public.  MBI supports our philosophy of being proactive rather than reactive in approach to behavior.

We have three expectations taught in our classrooms:  Be Safe. Be Kind and Be Ready and Responsible.  We believe if we expect these behaviors we must teach them.  You will find this topic being taught at the beginning of the year and several times throughout the year.

 

 

Precorrection

Precorrection is a teaching strategy that is useful in preschool and at home.  In precorrection we plan how we are going to teach an activity or transition, give forewarning of the change or new activity and describe exactly what will happen and how it will look. After stating it and using visual cues to support your language, you proceed with the activity.
